In 1970, Mick Seward first opened the doors of his first transport fridge with Petter Refrigeration
as a mobile service and breakdown engineer. During the next ten years of service he gained a considerable
amount of valuable knowledge and experience in the sector.
Armed with that knowledge and experience Mick and Rita Seward formed a new company called Transfreeze.
The new company got off to a very strong start and and quickly grew to be a strong force in the transport
refrigeration market place.
As happens to most successful small businesses Transfreeze was sold to new owners in the late 1980's.
Mick stayed on for a few years and worked with the new owners, joined by his son Martin in 1991.
Martin served time as mobile apprentice working mainly with diesels and he also attended one of the
last training courses held at Petters in Hamble.
In 1993 redundancy struck like it did many companies, Mick and Martin needed work and
so MS Refrigeration was formed. Five years later with the business growing from strength to
strength brother James also joined the family business. James combined day release at college studying
refrigeration and air conditioning with being out on the road with Mick or Martin attending breakdowns
on the vans and learning his trade.
